Appears in Mermaid's Dream: The Ash Princess. While grieving the death of his daughter, he is approached by a priest who takes pity on him and brings Natsume back to life. Her father manages to remember the Hagon Ritual, performing it later on several children out of pity for their grieving parents, and the belief that life matters above all. In the meantime, he and Natsume tour the country as sideshow performers, swindling people into buying ordinary fish by passing it off as mermaid's flesh.
